What we do:

The Community Health program is a section of public health that gathers science-based information on health and wellbeing and shares it with the local community.  This allows for programming, initiatives, and information about health issues to be specific and relevant to our community.  Boulder County Extension Community Health serves as a bridge between Boulder County Public Health and Parks and Open Space (POS), providing programs that serve the Latinx, immigrant, and other underserved populations.  We offer hands on educational programming that focus on promoting physical and mental well-being of participants through outdoor experiences on POS lands, environmental education, as well as culturally relevant nutrition and cooking classes.

  • Our partnership began in 2023
  • It is open to schools enrolled in F2ECE at no cost
  • Other schools can be involved. Please contact us for more information
  • Cooking materials provided are provided by CSU Extension Boulder County
  • We discuss the importance of low stakes taste testing and creative positive food trial relationships with new foods, with an emphasis on locally grown produce
