CSU Boulder County is happy to introduce Wellness Wednesdays! Dive into a world of wellness every week with our afterschool program, a collaborative effort between CSU Extension Boulder County and Longmont Children Youth and Families (LYC). Together, we’re empowering youth to lead healthy, balanced lives through a variety of engaging activities and experiences.
Educational Exploration: Each week, our topics are carefully chosen in collaboration with youth participants and LYC leaders. From nutrition and cooking to mindfulness and career exploration, every session is designed to inspire curiosity, foster learning, and promote personal growth.
Outdoor Adventures: Step into nature and embark on exciting adventures! Our program offers hiking expeditions, nature scavenger hunts, and archery sessions with the guidance of experienced 4-H instructors. It’s a chance for youth to connect with the great outdoors, build confidence, and develop valuable outdoor skills.
Nutrition and Cooking: Get ready to whip up delicious and nutritious treats in our cooking lessons! Participants will learn the fundamentals of healthy eating, explore new ingredients, and develop practical cooking skills that they can use for a lifetime of wellness.
Career Exploration: Wondering about your future? Our program provides valuable insights into various career paths, offering youth the opportunity to explore different professions, meet industry professionals, and discover their passions and interests.
Mindfulness and Self-Care: In today’s fast-paced world, it’s essential to take time for self-care and mental well-being. That’s why “Wellness Wednesday” includes mindfulness activities such as yoga, meditation, and relaxation techniques, empowering youth to manage stress, build resilience, and cultivate inner peace.
Join us every Wednesday for an enriching journey toward wellness and self-discovery. Together, let’s nurture healthy bodies, curious minds, and vibrant spirits! #WellnessWednesday #YouthEmpowerment #HealthyLiving #CommunityEngagement
